The Brief

Faced with rising demand and limited floor space, the client needed to increase their storage capacity without relocating. The solution had to create multiple new levels of usable area within the existing warehouse, ideally suited for small parts and fast-moving stock, while maintaining operational continuity.

The Challenge

Design and deliver a three-tier mezzanine floor system integrated with a multi-level goods lift, built to current fire safety and building regulations. The project was registered under CDM, meaning Logical Storage Solutions had full responsibility as Principal Contractor overseeing safety, access, fire protection, and delivery within a tight 13-week programme.

What We Delivered

  • Full design and build of a 3-tier mezzanine floor, with column spans of 5m x 6m, creating 3,600m² of additional space
  • Seamless integration of a multi-level goods lift for efficient vertical stock movement
  • Delivery and oversight as Principal Contractor under CDM 2015, including all H&S documentation, planning and coordination
  • Installation of fire-rated ceilings, lighting, edge protection, staircases and access walkways
  • Full project delivery in under 13 weeks, from design to commissioning and handover

The Result

The client has tripled their usable storage area within the same footprint, avoiding the cost and disruption of relocation or external expansion. The mezzanine structure is now a core part of their warehouse strategy, providing safe, scalable access to all product levels and supporting business growth for years to come.
