The Brief

AM Fresh, part of a £1.3 billion global group, required a specialist storage system for their new coldstore distribution facility in Peterborough. The site was developed to support expansion into the UK citrus fruit market, with a clear goal to maximise cubic storage capacity while maintaining temperature efficiency and fast product access.

The Challenge

Design a high-density racking system suitable for a temperature-controlled environment one that optimises pallet storage without compromising accessibility, airflow, or safety. As a purpose-built facility, the solution had to be engineered from the ground up and delivered in full compliance with CDM 2015 and coldstore-specific performance standards.

What We Delivered

  • Full design and installation of a mobile racking system tailored to maximise cubic volume within the coldstore footprint
  • Configuration engineered for high-density pallet storage with efficient aisle access
  • System designed to meet the operational and environmental requirements of coldstore use
  • Delivered as a £1 million turnkey contract, fully compliant with CDM 2015 and supported by site-specific risk assessments and method statements
  • Project completed on time, with zero delays and full coordination alongside other construction partners

The Result

AM Fresh now operates a space-maximising mobile racking system that delivers exceptional efficiency in both storage and energy use. The installation supports the client’s expansion into new product lines while keeping operational costs low. The system is now fully integrated into the facility’s logistics flow, built for performance, flexibility, and future scalability.
