The Brief
ACE Energy needed to significantly increase pallet capacity within their existing warehouse without expanding the building or disrupting operations. With longterm, low-turnover stock on site, a high-density drive-in racking system was the ideal solution to maximise cubic space while keeping access straightforward and maintenance minimal
The Challenge
Design and install a system capable of deep-lane storage up to 22 pallets deep per lane without compromising on stability, visibility or fire safety. The structure had to be robust enough to support static loads over long periods, with forklift access optimised for both efficiency and safety. All of this needed to be completed on a tight programme and within a live environment.
What We Delivered
- Full design and installation of a drive-in racking system providing over 5,000 pallet positions
- Deep-lane configuration of 22 pallets per run, tailored to product volume and handling equipment
- Integrated heavy-duty upright protection and durable structural supports for long-term use
- Installation delivered in full compliance with CDM 2015, including risk assessments and tailored method statements
- Delivered on time and in coordination with other ongoing works, ensuring no disruption to wider operations
The Result
ACE Energy now benefits from a space-maximising, low-maintenance storage system that supports high-volume, long-term stockholding without the cost or disruption of warehouse expansion. The system is performing exactly as designed: strong, stable, and efficient, with minimal ongoing intervention.
