How Quickly Can You Respond To Urgent Racking Damage?
For red-risk damage requiring immediate action, contact us directly and we will prioritise your visit. For planned repairs, lead times vary by location but are typically within a few working days.
What Types Of Pallet Racking Do You Repair?
Yes. We carry out repairs to all common racking systems including selective pallet racking, drive-in racking, push-back racking, cantilever racking, narrow aisle and VNA systems. If you are unsure whether your system is covered, call us and we will advise.
Is Pallet Racking Repair Always Possible?
Not always. Some damage, particularly to uprights that have been severely impacted, may be beyond economical or safe repair, in which case component replacement is the correct course of action. Our engineers will always give you an honest assessment and will not recommend replacement where repair is a viable option.
Will Repairs Be Carried Out To SEMA Standards?
Yes. All repairs and component replacements are carried out in line with SEMA guidance and current HSE expectations. You will receive documentation confirming the work completed and the restored specification of the racking.
Can You Repair Racking From Any Manufacturer?
In most cases, yes. We source compatible replacement components for all major racking manufacturers. In rare instances where a proprietary component is not available, we will advise you on the appropriate alternative.
Can You Explain More About Cantilever Racking Repairs Vs Replacement?
In many cases, damaged cantilever racking components can be repaired or replaced individually without the need to dismantle or replace the entire system.
Common forms of cantilever racking damage include bent or buckled arms, impact damage to uprights and damaged base plates, all of which can often be addressed by fitting replacement parts that match the original specification of the system.
However, the extent to which repair is appropriate depends on the nature and severity of the damage. Uprights that have sustained significant impact damage or visible deformation may compromise the structural integrity of the entire run and should be taken out of service immediately pending a full inspection. A qualified racking inspector will be able to assess whether individual components can be safely replaced or whether a section needs to be decommissioned and rebuilt.
At Logical Storage Solutions, we carry out cantilever racking inspections and repairs in accordance with SEMA guidelines and current UK health and safety legislation, including PUWER.
We recommend that all cantilever racking is inspected at regular intervals by a competent person, and that any damage is reported and assessed promptly rather than left unaddressed. Ignoring racking damage, however minor it may appear, can lead to progressive structural failure and serious risk to personnel and stock.
Do I Need A Racking Inspection Before A Repair Visit?
Not necessarily. If you have identified damage and need it repaired, we can attend and carry out both the damage assessment and the repair on the same visit. If you require a formal SEMA-compliant inspection report for compliance purposes, our pallet racking inspections service covers this in full.
